This particular area of laboratory work involves a process of stabilizing and preserving heat-sensitive products. This process is lyophilization. It is commonly explained many times as freeze drying. The key step in lyophilization is the process called sublimation. This is the step where a substance changes from a solid to a vapor without passing through the liquid state. The primary reasons for performing such a process are that these products have better benefits than their liquid counterparts. They reduce the need for cold storage environments. With less cumbersome storage requirements, they are easier to ship and handle. They also have longer shelf lives and with their reduced weight, have lower shipping costs.
At Wheaton, we offer a variety of lyophilization products such as containers and closure systems. The closure systems are for use in applications where lyophilization is used to prolong the shelf life of a product. With Wheaton, you get quality and credibility from us and you get to devote your time to the pursuit of science. Our customer’s admiration motivates us to offer the best customer service experience and most dependable laboratory products in the industry.
