The different needs of laboratories vary from educational settings to commercial laboratories with any number of fields from study and development to medical research and testing. Wheaton has a line of products in the field of Cryogenics. Cryogenics is the study of substances under low temperatures. Here are some applications for cryogenics: Blood Banking, Frozen Food, Special Effects, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy.
Whether you require the storage of irreplaceable samples in glass cryogenic ampules or plastic cryogenic vials, Wheaton has solutions for your needs. We offer bar coding options for sample traceability. We also have some color coded storage options and freezer boxes. Wheaton BioBanking Solutions offer high-quality products for your Cryogenic needs.
Here Are Some Examples of Our Cryogenic Products:
2D Matrix Bar Code Bottom Insert
These inserts are available either sterile or non-sterile. They press fit into place on the bottom of the vial. The bar code numbers are unique; guaranteed not to duplicate. They are made from cryogenic radiation grade, virgin polypropylene.
Bar Code Scanner
This is the single scan bar code reader. It is designed to plug and play without needing software installation. The scanner has a USB interface for easy connectivity to a computer and reads 1D and 2D Data Matrix bar codes on any vial or ampule.
This particular vial is an exacting round bottom cryogenic vial and allows up to 17,000 MAX RCF(xG). The unrivaled cap seal exceeds DOT and IATA regulations ensuring ultimate protection of samples during transportation and demanding freeze-thaw handling. It also comes with an internally threaded screw cap which can be easily removed with one hand. The vials also come sterile.
This particular red-topped vial from CryoELITE also comes sterile. The color-coded caps match the Wheaton freezer boxes to help keep things sorted. The bottom format allows for an unrestricted view of the 2D Matrix Bar Code Insert for convenient bar code scanning.
The KeepIT Freezer Box line offers an ideal method for batching and storing samples. They come in 6 different colors that match the colors of the CryoELITE cryogenic vials and are capable of accommodating internal threaded as well as externally threaded cryogenic vials. Openings in the bottom provide the option of scanning the CryoELITE 2D Matirx Bar Code Inserts. These freezer boxes are made from a shatterproof resign which is capable of withstanding cryogenic temperatures and accommodates label and freezer pen markings.
A Different Freezer Box
These are slightly different, engineered for use with liquid nitrogen. They can be used with cryogenic temperatures as well as use in room temperatures. They can accommodate 81 Cryule Vials or either 1 or 2ml volumes.
These ampules are designed for the preservation of a biological sample in glass. This one is pre-scored to eliminate the need for filing. It allows for storage at low temperatures. They are also manufactured to conform to USP Type I and ASTM E 438 Type I, Class A requirements. These ampules can be used in the vapor phase of liquid nitrogen.
Your Choice For Quality Equipment
Wheaton admires those people who devote their life to science. For 125 years, Wheaton has been pushing innovation and helping supply the needs of laboratories in the educational settings as well as commercial settings. Wheaton started back in 1888, producing glassware for the medical and the scientific fields. We were the sole provider of serum bottles used during World War II. In 1970, Wheaton formed an instrument group to begin producing hand cappers, magnetic stirrers and suspension culture flasks. Our centennial celebration included our keynote address being delivered by President Ford. Wheaton has been in the business of serving laboratory needs for 125 years and is still going.
Look at our line of Cryogenic products. We have the combination of credit and quality that you should be using. What quality is afforded to you when you pay less? These samples, products or substances that need cryogenic study are not always easily acquired. If the sample is damaged or contaminated, it becomes useless. The old motto of, “You get what you pay for”, could never be so well applied in this situation.
At Wheaton, we have hundreds of products for your consideration for different fields of study or application. We bring the recognized name and quality you desire. Our admiration for those individuals that devote their life to science motivates us to offer the best customer service experience available. We hope you choose us as your supplier for the equipment and supply needs your laboratory has.
