WHEATON® White Paper: High Recovery Vials Show Proven Materials Savings

New Research White Paper available at INTERPHEX Shows 99 percent reduction of residual waste compare to other vials

MILVILLE, NJ – A new white paper from WHEATON available at INTERPHEX Booth 1412 April 21-23 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, proves that the use of its High Recovery Vials (HRVs) provides a 99 percent reduction in residual waste compared with traditional flat bottom vials.

With pharmaceutical companies packaging billions of individual doses each year in glass vials, Wheaton’s HRVs can ensure proper dosing while significantly reducing material waste by eliminating the need to overfill. This potentially provides significant savings to pharmaceutical companies, especially those producing high-cost biologic therapies.

“This study proves that the design of our HRVs significantly reduce waste,” said Joseph Pinto, Senior Global Product Manager, WHEATON. “For companies producing high-cost drugs, overfilling standard vials to ensure the proper dose is essentially money wasted every time a customer throws away a vial with residual material.”

The development of HRVs is just another way WHEATON works to produce high-value solutions to meet the specific needs of its life science and pharmaceutical customers., Wheaton’s Premium Services, which provide a suite of customizable services including pre-weighted container taring, cleaning and surface deactivation, customized vial packaging and even customizing the vial itself, is another way they meet their customers specific needs.

“We know that each pharmaceutical company has very specific and individual needs,” Pinto concluded. “This allows us to tailor a solution that meets the needs of our customers for even the most demanding projects.”
